Opalux and De La Rue Announce the Launch of a New Security Feature – MyImage™
De La Rue, the world’s leading anti-counterfeiting and security specialist for currency, identity and brand protection, today launches its first new security feature as part of its partnership with Opalux, a producer of premium first level security features.
The strategic partnership, which was announced last October, has seen the two companies collaborate on joint product development and MyImage™ is the first in a series of exciting new security features.
Launching at the SDW conference in London today, MyImage™, is a unique, highly secure and easy to verify personalisation feature. It is a next generation optically variable feature that uses an individual’s personal data – photograph, date of birth, signature, etc. – to provide maximum security across a wide range of polycarbonate identification documents. A key benefit of this new feature is that the personalisation of the document is done using existing laser engraving personalisation systems. The MyImage™ feature is jointly developed using Opalux’s innovative OpalPrint Polycarbonate technology.
Ulrich Walter, the Product Managing Director for De La Rue’s Security Features and Identity Portfolio said: “I am delighted that we are today launching our first security feature as part of our exciting collaboration with Opalux. MyImage™ really is space-age technology that is truly world-leading and continues to keep us ahead of the counterfeiters across our full range of identity documents. This is just the beginning of a fantastic partnership and I look forward to launching other exciting new developments in the future.”
Speaking about the launch, Anthony Ling, Vice President of Corporate Development at Opalux said: “This launch is very exciting for us as we have combined our leading edge technology and security features with De La Rue’s integrated portfolio and global reach to create a unique product. By working together, we are creating innovative solutions with our next generation technology and I am excited about the future of our partnership.”
